'A Tribute to Art' from the 7 - 21 October 2006

This year's exhibition focuses on art and the artists to whom painting was a driving force within them. Some gifted at birth, inherited from their parents or family, others developed a latened talent for their chosen subject.

Leading artists of the day successfully exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolours, the Paris Salon and elsewhere, gaining commissions from wealthy patrons, while others struggled for recognition and sacrificed much for their passion of art, only to be recognised long after their demise.
