This tranquil port scene features fishing boats in the harbour, with fishermen
tending to their boats as the light plays upon the water and the lighthouse
stands against the setting skies with the promise of a new day.
Theodore Weber was a specialist painter of marine subjects. He settled in
Paris, exhibiting at The Salon. He also exhibited at The Glasgow Institute
of Fine Art, Arthur Tooth & Sons Gallery and elsewhere. He died in Paris in
1907.
